ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (MATERIALS)

You will serve as an ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (MATERIALS) in the FST ENGINEERING DIV, FST DEPT of FLTREADCEN SOUTHEAST.


  • You will write reports that are used by others to maintain or change the quality of associated products.
  • You will perform or direct the performance of development or evaluation of new materials, processes, and methods for which there is little known data.
  • You will develop technically complex engineering process designs, proposal and specification, often of an innovative, cutting edge and unconventional nature to overcome inadequate data or lack of precedent.
  • You will submit material process designs and project plans to engineering managers, project/program sponsors and others for consideration, approval and implementation.
  • You will troubleshoot aspects of aircraft, components and engine material industrial processing in regard to material selection, application, and testing.

Requirements

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Managing organic coating projects; 2) Analyzing coating problems and deficiencies and resolving them; 3) Demonstrating partnering to achieve common goals; 4) Performing materials testing, testing process changes, and analyzing results; 5) Providing training and instruction to develop and improve skills.
