Human Resources Assistant (Information Systems)
This position is Non-appropiated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Air Force Services Center at Port San Antonio, TX. This is a regular full-time category position with guaranteed 40 hrs. per week. Employees appointed to a regular category position are eligible for benefits. This is a term position with a not to exceed date of 04-AUG-2030.
The primary purpose of this position is to provide HR advisory services and support to 83 serviced installations and HR offices. Serves as an authoritative source of information on procedural and regulatory requirements pertaining to HR personnel matters involving eOPF documents to be added to or removed from an employee's electronic official personnel folder. Provides guidance and informational resources to HR offices and their staff on submitting documents and accessing those documents once they are a part of an employee's record. Maintains official employee personnel records for the entire AF NAF population. Receives and reviews personnel documents for inclusion in an employee's personnel record. These documents are received using myFSS and are downloaded, reviewed for completeness and correctness prior to inputting into an employee's electronic personnel record. Returns documents to the installation which originated the action when the document is not complete. Retrieves documents from DCPDS/USA Staffing when requested by the HR office to ensure an employee's personnel record is complete. Provides documents to legal offices or employees upon request. Completes background investigation paperwork on employees from investigating agencies. Submits requests to Components and NPRC for records of employees with prior Federal service. Uses Business Intelligence to retrieve reports to audit employees' personnel records. Conducts a review of personnel records within eOPF and purges records of extraneous documents prior to archiving the record upon an employee's departure from AF NAF. Assists with USA Staffing actions of granting/changing profile permissions, assisting installations with completing Onboarding Tasks, and retrieving reports using Power BI or COGNOS. Responds to installation issues for certificate errors or when vacancies do not release to USAJOBS. Attends weekly meetings with OPM on system enhancements or to discuss issues with account managers. Experience utilizing electronic Official Personnel Folder (eOPF) systems, automated federal staffing systems (such as USA Staffing), or personnel action processing portals. Experience with office automation software (MS Windows, MS Office, including PowerPoint, Word, Access, and Excel). Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Ability to apply applicable rules, AFIs, AFMANs, and other guidance to ensure accuracy and legality. Ability to identify, organize and categorize large volumes of documents efficiently and accurately.
