Physical Scientist, AST - Science Program Management
As the Portfolio Analytics Manager on the Science Mission Directorate Deputy Associate Administrator for Projects (DAA/P) Team you will be responsible for leading and participating in persistent assessment of the Science mission fleet in development and operation and studies to support continuous process improvement in this area.
- Lead and perform portfolio analyses and assessments of the Science Mission Directorate (SMD) Flight mission fleet on behalf of the Science Mission Directorate Deputy Associate Administrator for Programs
- Lead the development, curation, and evolution of the Science Mission Directorate’s Flight Projects database in collaboration with the Digital Transformation team.
- Lead and participate in mission fleet studies in support of the Science Mission Directorate Deputy Associate Administrator for programs to capture lessons learned and formulate recommendations for application across the broad mission portfolio.
- Serve as the SMD Deputy Associate Administrator’s interface for programs cross-directorate integration (Research and Technology Directorate, Space Communication and Navigation Program, Commercial Low Earth Orbit Destination Programs).
- Serve as the SMD Deputy Associate Administrator’s interface for programs inter-agency regulatory compliance (Federal Communications Commission/Federal Aviation Administration).
Requirements
In addition to the Basic Education Requirement (in the Education section below), to qualify for this position you must meet the requirements below and have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade, which has equipped you with the particular competencies needed to successfully perform the duties of the position described above. NASA utilizes OPM-approved qualification and rating requirements specific for Aerospace Technology (AST) positions which recognizes NASA's unique aerospace work. The specific qualifications and minimum education requirements are further described below and within the education section of the job announcement. To qualify for GS-14, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level: Reviewing and providing assessment for an executive audience on the health, challenges, and issues of a broad portfolio of projects. Road mapping, developing, implementing, and curating relational database. Liaising across multiple Agency Mission Directorates, programs, and projects to enable mission success across shared equities.
