Refractory Bricklayer

We are seeking potential Refractory Bricklayers to perform masonry work on industrial projects. Refractory Bricklayers are responsible for installing and repairing refractory materials designed to withstand extreme temperatures and demanding operating conditions. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of projects while developing and utilizing specialized masonry skills.


Refractory Bricklayers perform a variety of specialized masonry and refractory construction tasks, including:

  • Laying and installing refractory brick and other masonry materials.
  • Cutting and fitting brick and refractory materials to specifications.
  • Building forms and preparing areas for refractory installations.
  • Mixing, pouring, and hand-packing castable refractory materials.
  • Welding and performing related installation and repair work.
  • Applying refractory materials using gunite equipment.
  • Removing and repairing damaged refractory materials.
  • Reading and following project plans, specifications, and safety requirements.
  • Working safely around industrial equipment, elevated work areas, heat, dust, and other job-site conditions.

Refractory Bricklayers may work on industrial facilities, plants, commercial projects, and other specialized construction sites.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods.
  • Ability to work from ladders, scaffolds, lifts, and other elevated work areas.
  • Ability to lift and handle heavy materials and equipment.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and project specifications.
  • TWIC Card required or ability to obtain one, when required by the project.
  • Must be willing to submit to a drug test.
  • Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
  • Ability to work as part of a crew and follow direction from foremen and supervisors.
