Supervisor Plumber


The Supervisor Plumber is responsible to directly supervise and coordinate all plumbers and helpers in the Fire Safety Department; abate emergencies and schedule inspection, testing, maintenance, repairs, replacements, modifications, and installations of fire protection systems throughout NYCHA properties; provide technical assistance.Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to the following:- Conduct field inspections.- Oversee scheduled and off-line appointments to ensure court cases, violations, routine tickets, and fire jobs are addressed in a timely manner.- Create, review, and track work orders and create material orders.- Perform quality control inspection of shops and work sites; train staff.- Estimate job requirements and specifications; perform field surveys and work with NYCHA departments and developments to abate emergencies and review plan specifications.- Review blueprints; attend pre-bid and pre-design meetings for contract work; inspect contract work.- File all permits, post approval amendments, emergency work notices, and limited alteration applications with authorization agencies.- Provide guidance and direct oversight of trades in conducting permitted work.- Request, conduct and witness initial and recurring performance test with DOB and FNDY- Maintain tool, equipment, and vehicle accountability.- Perform administrative duties.Additional Information1. Requirements

1. Seven (7) years of recent, satisfactory, full-time, paid experience as a plumber, at least two (2) years of which must have been spent in duties of a supervisory nature; or 2. A satisfactory equivalent. Experienced (non-manager)
